Meta Communication International at the 4th Annual Crisis Communications and Issues Management Congress in Barcelona on April 3 and 4, 2008
Managing Crises with Professional Media Analysis
Meta Communication International will participate in the 4th Annual Crisis Communications and Issues Management congress in Barcelona with a report titled “The Role of Media Observation and Analysis in the Management of Various Types of Crises. By example of the Deutsche Bahn wage dispute, the specialist for individual solutions in the area of global/international media observation and analysis will demonstrate how professional media monitoring and corporate communication can cooperate with one another in crisis situations and how communication strategies can be adapted.
Taking place in Barcelona, the congress, in which Shell, the Blackstone Group, UBS, IKEA and Seat are also participating as speakers, is one of the leading international events addressing company scenarios in crisis situations.
Particularly in this sensitive communicative discipline, the issue of enlisting service providers is frequently the subject of critical discussions. “Meta Communication International shows how the daily reporting on the wage dispute was monitored and prepared for Deutsche Bahn and how the company integrated the results into its communication, says Jens Schuemann, head of sales and marketing at Meta. Gathering clippings is inadequate, particularly in crisis situations. A detailed evaluation and analysis concerning what communication strategy led to what public image is an important decision-making aid for communicators in the company and the media resonance analysis an indispensable component of flexible and rapid-response corporate communication.
By participating in the congress Meta Communication International has positioned itself as an advisor which provides its customers with competent recommendations on the tools of observation and analysis in crisis situations and also develops recommendations for action based on the media situation analysed.
